Bottom Line

I’m quite picky when it comes to lip products; I absolutely hate the feel of heavy, waxy products coating my lips. I am very pleased with Neutrogena’s MoistureShine Lip Soother!

It is easy to apply the soother. The cap unscrews easily and with a slight squeeze of the tube, a bit of the hydragel emerges from the tube. The slanted applicator makes it easy to apply; the lip balm slides smoothly over lips. The Lip Soother feels good on my lips even though there is a slight weight to the soother. The weight of the soother is negligible. The soother also leaves a bit of stickiness on lips after application, but nothing too substantial.

My lips have a nice, glossy look after I apply the Lip Soother. The gloss isn’t as high as some of the other lip products I have used, but I think it is the perfect amount of gloss and shine. I was a bit surprised that the soother does not add any color. It looks pink in the tube but when it is applied, there is barely any color (if any). I can understand people not liking that the product does not add color, but I actually like that. I like that the soother is a low-maintenance beauty product. The Lip Soother has a wonderful scent to it. It is fruity, but not stomach-churning sweet like some other lip glosses.

There is a slight, tingling feeling on my lips shortly after application. This “cooling” effect is nice, but isn’t necessary. The Lip Soother does add a good boost of moisture to my lips. I will happily reach for this lip product over my ChapStick. I also love that there is SPF 20 protection! It is always nice to have that added benefit to a beauty product.

I would definitely repurchase this product at its regular price. I like that it adds shine, smells wonderful, and offers SPF protection without coating my lips with a heavy lip product.

Bottom Line

In my recent search for a waterproof mascara that does not flake like crazy I came across this. After a terrible experience with Revlon Fantasy lash I was hesitant to buy another low end mascara, I didn’t feel like I was saving money buying a DS product that didn’t work then having to buy another. Why not just bite the bullet and spend the money once getting a good product? But spending 20 to 30 dollars on a mascara goes against my common sense.

Anyway I bought this at Walmart for about 7.00 dollars, I think. I love the big teddy bear brush, this is the brush best for my itty bitty lashes. The little plastic ones don’t work well for me. The brush is not in the tube when you open the package, you open the mascara then put the brush in. When pulling out the brush from the mascara I immediately noticed that the mascara was not gooped all over the brush. At first I thought the mascara was dry, but no, I was just use to goopy loaded up brushes. The mascara went on smooth, lashes did not clump together, they were seperate, long, and very dark. After 2 or 3 coats I had perfect lashes, using my magnifying mirror x 10 I found 3 tiny flakes under the bottom lash line.

What a huge difference from the Fantasy lash which was CLUMP/ Flake city. The only problem I have with this product, it is a little hard to get off. No smudging or flaking issues but you will need a GOOD waterproof mascara remover. As other reviewers have said this is not a over the top giant spider lashes product but it s a good mascara. I would repurchase.

In the tube, the Colorstay lipstick’s appearance isn’t as shiny as traditional lipstick; it’s more matted. The difference can be noted the minute the product touches your lips. It glides on but not as slick as regular lipstick. The temporary permanence, the smudge proofness, takes effect about three minutes after application.

I had difficulties the first year I used this product. It would clump pretty easily, especially after re-application. But after I purchased a newly re-packaged and re-formulated Colorstay lipstick (very small changes, as I noted earlier) my problems diminished somewhat. I still have a little problem with clumping but not as badly as before.

As with most lipsticks, it is very important to use this product with a quality lipliner. This product, however, looses it’s effectiveness when it comes in contact with anything oil-based so when applying lipliner, look for one that is on the “dryer” side. I use Estee Lauder’s lipliners (from their periodic promotional gift packages) and it works very well with the Colorstay lipstick line.

I like Revlon’s Colorstay lipstick and use it just about everyday. I save time and money by not having to constantly check and re-apply my lipstick during the day and I also have piece of mind knowing that my lipstick isn’t smudged. My husband likes the colors and the fact that the color stays on me and doesn’t rub off on him; he even brings me different colors as little “I love you” gifts occasionally. I do wish Revlon would find a formula that didn’t leave lips feeling parched but I do think that the trade off is well worth it.I have used Revlon’s Colorstay lipstick since it first came out on the market a few years ago. The promise of smudge-proof lipstick was a small miracle for a busy professional woman, like myself, who disliked checking the status of her lipstick every hour.

I used to have sensitive and drying lips, especially on cold weather. I have bought a lip balm and it moistures my lips all right. Yet I want something that not only moistures my lips but gives color as well. Many lipsticks claim that they have enough moisturizer to moisture drying lips and give long-lasting color. I have tried so many lipsticks brands, and I still haven’t found one that matches my criteria. The lipsticks I have tried sometimes stayed on the color but after a while the color faded, or the moisturizer only lasted for a few minutes and then my lips dried again. I haven’t found a satisfactory product.

Not until I found this one, Revlon Renewist Lipcolor. I purchased it when I was on my pursuit of finding my desired lipstick. At first, I doubted that it would give the results I’ve longed for. Apparently I was wrong.

The lipstick comes in a cute white transparent case. They have like 24 colors available to choose from. Mine is Chocolate Satisfaction (dark brown). In the center of the lipstick is the core which claims to contain ProCollagen. With this ProCollagen Core I feel sure that it is the one that makes my lips so moist. And yeah, I can tell you that this lipstick has a long lasting color. I put it on the whole day, talking, drinking and eating, sometimes kissing my husband, and it won’t wipe off easily. Another good thing is that it makes somewhat glossy on my lips, shiny but not wet. It seems that I don’t need any lip gloss any more. It also claims to have SPF 15, so it can protect my lips from the bad effects of sun shine. I always put it on when having outbound vacation. It proves that the SPF 15 is no joke and it works very well for me.

I said goodbye to my lip balm right after the first use of this lipstick. I must admit that no lipstick has ever done a perfect job like Revlon Renewist Lipcolor. Overall, I feel sure that this is the best lipstick ever!
